You know Grey, I just bought a ute yesterday, so if I can figure out how to get it to yours without sctratching it I can't see why I couldn't get it to your place.

Hey! I only just noticed that today's the 11th, making the gamesnight less then a week away. Grey! You're falling down on the job mate! Where's the day by day update? I might forget, if you don't keep the hype going.

Yeah, I was kinda noticing I was slacking off... okay a quick tv update. No sign of the 80cm Not too sure what is happening there. So I shall have to beat up my housemate and see what she says.

I have emailed people... I am going to email a few more. I keep forgetting to add people to my address books

Sorry if I have been a bit distracted of late. I shall try and keep on top of things in the future

Well... we could do a macca's run... I have no issues with that, plus it would be a slight change of pace. We just put in an order each and I stupidly drive down and pick it all up

I enjoyed the games night, I felt that heaps of games were played and played good

I must say I really enjoyed 18 wheeler. A nice over the top truck racing game. Smash dem vans... honk that horn. I am a redneck

Also, congrats to EBE for his Death Tank skillz.

Now I am guessing we just need to arrange the next games night.

Next time do me a favour and hide Star Wars Demolition, I will give most games a go but I don't like being forced to play something all night.

And Nova had that scary I'm about to talk Jar Jar Binks if you don't play look.

18 Wheeler looked good, So did Giga Wings, and Fire Pro, although Fighting Vipers 2 instantly had my attention. I better find the moves for all the fighters and fast.

I'm with NukleuZ... I won't be attending the next games night. Two TVs for most of the night (annoying cos I could have easily brought one), one of which was seemingly dedicated to Heavy Nova playing Star Wars by himself all night (which, btw is -easily- more lame than playing Shenmue by yourself, where at least the comments by the voice-over wrtr humourous the first three times), no DDR *sniffle* and a pizza that cost me 20 bucks.

All night? I played it by myself at 4am while the rest of people where playing Death Tank... Moron.

My lord, a gamesnight without a TV 'seemingly dedicated' to Marvel vs. Capcom?

You've marked me down 1000 there. Which would mean your worth around 3000 credits.

Hmmm, and someone doesn't know what a hardcore gamer is. Well to fill you everyone in, a hardcore gamer is simply a gamer that can play non-stop for ages, that's all. He could lose every game he plays, but as long as he still craves and still plays, he's a hardcore gamer, IMO.
Softcore gamer is exactly that.. Soft! The only way to keep them playing is to egg em' on. *cough* Also a Softcore gamer could play a vs game once, win, and then *cough* say they've 'retired'.... *cough* because they know they'd lose if they played again. *cough* .... Hmmmm, I must take something for this cold.

BTW Jah, sorry if you're reading this, but it seems we're going through some gamesnight restructuring at this point.

You knew I was joking!

I also hate 1 on 1 vs in that style of game (and most others). If you could have forced others to play I might of.

And I had the craving to play other games not SW Demolition, which made no sense what so ever timeline wise.

Yeah sadly, mainly as there wasn't enough people. I didn't think that would be a major factor, but it seems alot of people are needed to drown out (two nameless) wet blankets. So really on the night we needed more flexible people (or green bearded people (injoke)).

In reply to the various crap spewed by HN:
Moron? Whatever. Star Wars was on for over 10 hours, most the time being played by just you. Marvel vs Capcom got a brief showing, probably about five "fights", then went off, as I saw that no-one apart from me was interested in playing it, and I thought it would be unfair if both main TVs were being taken up by one person playing a game no-one else wanted to play.

Honestly, if you want to prove how "hard" you are by playing with yourself all night, do it at home with some tissues nearby.

Please don't tell me your efforts are what you consider "flexible"?

I arrived at 1amish. After the 7 hour yawnfest that was watching you earn Darth Maul (mostly on your own, even your partner realised enough was enough eventually), we sat through what was the 3 hour yawnfest (literally, I fell asleep at this point, which isn't common for me at games nights) of you playing with Darth Maul.

I've been around while you're playing Powerstone, and to be perfectly honest, joining you at a game where you have a clear advantage over others isn't an inviting concept.
With Star Wars Demolition you have at your control what is easily the most over-powered character in the game? No thanks.

I once tried to learn how to play Powerstone. After 2 rounds of you beating the crap out of me (and everyone else in the field), laughing after every power move, and with noone bothering to explain how the freaking game works, I was ready to try something else.

So the question must be asked, 'Why do you bother?'

I have not once seen you play in a manner befitting a console PARTY. People go there to play together and have fun. This may come as a shock to you, but your taunting of new players doesn't encourage togetherness or fun.

Softcore? I doubt it. But at least I know I'm not a whinging coward like yourself.

You laugh at me for playing DDR? I gave a new game a shot and found something fun.
You mock others for playing MvC or other one-on-one fighters? We play games other than Powerstone or Techromancer.

Hell, we share the controller around. I've lost count of the number of times you've planted your ass in a seat and camped with the one controller for hours on end.

You wanna bitch about the lack of people showing up? Try making some effort to encourage their repeat attendance.

And for a first post, I think that just about does it.

GreyWizzard shuffles around his feet and sighs a bit

Um... A few months back I suggested we have a day or something that does not involve video games. I got a few responses saying this was a good idea. Obviously from the tension that has been building between people it shows that we kinda need to go back to basics.

I think we need to have another get together, away from the consoles. Just so we can all sit and chat and do stupid things.

I have tried to be the best host that I can be. I know that some nights I have been totally crap... I try.

I enjoy the games nights, it gives me a chance to play a crap load of games, and relive a feeling from my teenage days where I would get together with my friends and go hardcore on a crap load of games for one night. It also give me a chance to meet people and understand why we play video games.

Basically... what I am saying is... I don't want these nights to end. I want to settle differences people are having... especially between myself and a few others.

I hope that somehow we can all keep together and keep the games nights going.

Grey...

Well....I must say that I am not 'HARD'core. I wouldn't even want to be. I like going to the games nights and seeing the new games that people have.

Maybe a bit of conversation wouldn't hurt either. We all have similar interests don't we?

As for HN busting arse on powerstone. I'm afraid I have to agree. I hadn't played before and went in there and got my arse kicked with very little info on what the hell was happening. I must say I would be reluctant to play again.
