Doesn't the whole press release just kind of contradict itself at the end?

Yeah it's down for the 2/3.I'm still struggling to believe it, to be honest. If Phantasy Star Online is released here without online support, it'd be the biggest kick in the guts for DC owners here.

I assume the '*' implies that there are conditions that apply or that there is more details in 'the small print'.The onlone functions of PSO here in Aus depends on Sega of Europe NOT using the DreamArena style connection, right?

The reason why they put the last line in is due to the fact that the master servers are running in the UK. Now if they decide to close up the UK network like before then that means Australian customers are out of luck. Also if there are issues with the server connection then Ozisoft has no control since BT and sega Europe manage the server. So basically Ozisoft have left in the functionality to connect but can't provide a guarantee of online service since they have no control over the master server. But It should work for everybody without a prob, I've seen it working and the guys I know that havce been testing it have had little trouble. The only problems I can see is with people trying to share cd-keys since you're only allowed to use 1 key per dreamcast and that key is non transferrable.

HEy Lestat, you said some friends have been testing it... is that a PAL version? Or do you mean they have an NTSC version and are connecting to the US servers?------------------ This message brought to you by GreyWizzard Inc. Defender of the Lazy People.

nope you can't megaman... just like you can't use your character from the JAP one with the US oneDO NOT... I REPEAT DO NOT buy the Aussie version if it doesn't work online... it will be a TOTAL waste of money, because there is only a limit you can be BOTHERED doing offline... so don't get it if you can't play online... you will get bored very quickly!!!

ROFLMAO!! That press release from Ozisoft is the funniest thing I've read"Yes the game will feature online multiplayer....however we don't know if it will work yet" Why don't they just come out and say "The game is on inevitable delay and most likely will see release here, on the Playstation 2. " Wankers.... ------------------ The Elite Force!!

Seriously... what is the point of releasing it.. wouldnt it be an idea to change the name of the game to "Phantasy Star Online in countries other than Australia and New Zealand"??? And i remember steve saying that all we are waiting for is some online games.. then the the telstra online gaming network can be utilised... What crap.. i have been doubting online gaming from teh start.. would have been great.. but I knew it would never eventuate.. Shafted again..

Ohh stop your bitching, atleast you still have online functionality included. For christ sakes you like to critisise DC online play but fail to recognise that it's the only console that's providing any online play at the moment. Why don't go to another platform that supports online... oh wait there isn't one. Just think about that!

Good point, Lestat. Why would Dreamcast owners buy Phantasy Star Online expecting online play? Dumb arses!I for one sleep better knowing that the folks over in the UK and US are and will be recieving online play, while we get squat. I was kind of worried for a while back there that those folks might miss out.
