Topic: Are you prepared to call the Dreamcast the best console ever?

The system's time is nearly over. The last batch of games will be coming through over the next 12-18 months.So are you prepared to call the Dreamcast the best console ever? I think I am. It's surpassed the Mega Drive, IMO, which for me was the previous title holder. Constant AAA titles even though it's not as successful as the other consoles out there. If this doesn't make sense at all, that's because it's just gone 2:30 AM. ------------------

Sega Dreamcast definetly, then comes MD at a close 2nd.The Dreamcast has had so many AAA titles in the last 18 mnths. Some even go as far to say that its had more AAA titles then PSX has had in its lifespan! It still have 18mnths-2yrs left, so lets enjoy them, as a surge of more AAA titles will hit the console in that period of time

Definately, it's just a shame people are too blind to see it, but I won't get into that.The only thing is that nearly every game is a AAA title and is costing me a fortune - Damn Sega, why are you so good??

I still believe the SNES to be the best console ever, then next comes the Dreamcast. The 16 bit era was the greatest!

Pff - talk about playing the sympathy vote. The SNES still rates in my books as the best console ever. Long library of quality games, good performance for its time, stupidly long market life, good value for money...

At the moment I'm still saying Megadrive, but I think the DC will eventually surpass it as my favourite, even though Sonic 3 will always be my favourite game.------------------

No way, not by a long shot. Ive had more gameplay out of the PS and N64, megadrive and Snes then I have with the DC. And looking forward I am positive I will play those systems more then my DC.

YES!I have that many awsome games it's stupid! dreamcast has THE best games IMO.
let me just name a few games off the top of my head. soul calibur-sonic avdenture (sequel soon)-jet set radio-MDK2-MSR-daytona 2001-crazy taxi-sega sports series-rayman 2-le mans-quake3-shenmue then you have AAA games others i'm not into like-PSO-grandia2-skies of arcadia-RE:CV the reason I say dreamcast is the best console is because of the situation.
mega drive and SNES were the only machines on the market and they both ruled.
dreamcast had to win over the people again who were let down by saturn/32X/megacd and the kids who bought the PSX.
DC is an awsome machine which IMO couldn't be better!
to bad nobody gave it a chance cause it canes PS2.

nope, i really love racing games, DC is far to short of em, GT 1,2, toca 1,2,3, need for speed games, wipeout games, RR games, F1 games colin mcrea 1,2. all on PSX.DC is a bloody good console, but IMO it fell short as the best ever. PS2 with all the backing of developers might be my number one, but at the moment its still the PSX, funny enough though i cant play it anymore b/c of the ultra low res and crap graphics that make me ill now that i have been playing high res 60fps games with killer graphics. sigh. ------------------

hmmm...Saturn Vs DC... I am going to go out on a limb and say "Yes, the DC is the greatest console so far (with Saturn coming in a very close second place)" ------------------

I think making a judgement now is a bit stupid.
I mean the console has been out here for 16months or so.. and already its demise has been scheduledmaybe you could say.. the DC is the console with the shortest life span ever. Ask me again when the DC has been out for 2 years.
until then.. the saturn and MD still have it over the DC ------------------

You fool!! You idiotic fool!! What about Phantasy Star Online (Now! Not 2002!) and Grandia 2?! Then there is the game that totally owns me right now, Skies of Arcadia!
