I'm not gonna let that one go - the reason I didn't reply was that I wasn't going to be pulled into a petty argument simply because you're an arsehole. Fuck off. You can spew whatever bullshit you like after this post, I'm going to ignore it - but mate, get a life. Baiting people on forums for attention is a pretty sad hobby.

Everything is relative.

Say for instance you had a $5,000 cd player that you knew, to your ears, sounded better than any other CD player you had ever heard in your life, at any price, would you consider it to be a very scroogeworthy CD player?

Now, what if your favourite past time in the world was listening to music, and that $5000 CD player added just that little bit more detail and sonic purity, that you could hear notes, instrument track and subtle detail that you had never heard before, in your favourite recordings, would you consider it nonsense, waffle and snobbery?

Someone's a delicate genius...

Baiting people for attention? I've never heard so much crap in my life!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was the post that began it...

You're wrong, it's your constant belligerent attitude that gets me. But oh well..

But whatever, this argument could go on forever. Have fun.

I had to post it again, because I'm the agressive one. Like I explained above, this is what started it, or was it the 'surly' comment?

Anyway, this really could go on forever, or until you realise it was your 'belligerent attitude' that begain it.

Ok, well let's see who escalates it.

I'll be bold and you can be italics okay?

Are you sure? No? Didn't think so.

God, and I thought I was surly.

You mean you're not?

Jesus you're annoying Stooge.

If my posting has in anyway offended you, I sincerely apologise that you're a wanker.

I see you have accepted my apology.

This experience can only make you stronger. Good luck my friend.

etc.

I'm surly, but at least I'm not belligerent. Or a mac zealot.

Ah, now I understand, it's the Mac thing that gets you. After all, jealousy is a curse.

(I've got to start remembering to put smilies everywhere, I think they make things better...)

I really wish I could be jealous of you being able to pay twice as much for yesterday's technology (that happens to look good), but try as I might, I just can't. Sorry

IE they all use Pioneer of Toshiba transports and technology, so it is impossible for a rebadged machine to be better than it's Toshiba or Pioneer equivalent.

I heard that Loewe uses picture tubes manufactured by Sharp in thier Telivisions, and yet Loewe TV's are widely regarded as the best in the world.

My understanding was that the superflatline picture tubes(the ones they use in the Loewe Arcarda 72 TV's) are manufactured by Phillips, however they were so expensive to use in TV's that Phillips did not use them in their own TV's. I do not know much about the totally flat picture tube they use in the Aconda, but the Superflatline Picture tube in the 72cm Arcarda's was the best picture tube you could have in any TV, until the totally flat TV's came out.

Loewe TV's use tecgnology such as a digital processing, line doubling, wide screen anamorphic modes, 100hz Pal Plus, and all sorts of other tchnology that no other TV manufacturer I am aware of uses. That is why their TV's are the best.

It is also my understanding that Loewe Video's are rebadged Phillips VCR's, but I that was a few years ago, so I am not sure if the situation has changed or not.

your use of the word "retort" is questionable.

if my memory of its definition serves me well.

I thought a 'retort' was one of those metal pole jobbies with the adjustable clamp on them you use in Chemistry for holding test tubes.
