DJ you are also a bloody hypocrite - quote: I'm thinking of selling my TV to buy a new one, but I have NO idea how much it'd be worth second hand. It's a 68cm Sony Trinitron, the old black case version, not the silver case. It's got a flat screen, but it only has AV inputs, no s-video or anything. It has awesome picture quality, and is in realy good condition.
Awesome picture quality with av inputs? Quick, you better sell it fast, you don't wanna keep that awesome picture quality through composite for too long now...

Thanks for the input guys!!Anyway, I've got the same TV, and although it's a better picture tube and screen than my 80cm Panasonic, my Panasonic smokes it for video games when you run it with S-Video. Like, duh.

Sonic jam, I don't disagree with you, I'm just stating that depending on your application you won't always see hyper-improvements moving up formats of video transmission. Also don't brag. If you want satisfaction, then be content with knowing that you have a good TV.

That was hardly bragging, it was in response to you implying that I had a shitty TV (Which isnt nice when you just payed near 2 and a half grand for one)

And so I reply... quote: Originally posted by DJ Fusion: What a load of crap.Firstly, SCART isn't a video signal. It's simply a connector through which you can channel component, svideo or composite.
And so he replies... quote: Originally posted by zarevz: What are you smoking? I don't remember mentioning the word scart in that post.
Zarevz, you sir, are a complete fruitloop.
quote: Originally posted by zarevz: Finally you're an idiot because scart doesn't carry component video, it carries rgb.
From www.dvdshop.com.au sale section: quote: Neotech 3m SCART to Component video + Audio (L + R)
Depending on the set, SCART connections can carry anything from RGB and component, through to s-video and composite. I love it when you go nuts trying to be all clever when you're actually completely wrong. quote: Originally posted by zarevz: Awesome picture quality with av inputs?
Actually, it looks awesome when watching television, and it looks awesome with the DC, but the dot crawl and color bleed from my DVD player drives me insane..!! Having plugged the same DVD player into cheaper TV's with s-video makes me realise how crap a composite connector is. Straight away those inherent composite problems disappeared. See, I'm speaking from hands-on experience, but I don't think anyone wants to experience what you've got your hands on at the moment, Zarevz.

Oh my god you're right..!! I would never have been able to find that information out, let alone to be able to just type it out and not even explain how it relates to anything I just said you FRUITLOOP..!!

Can you actualy explain what each of those things mean though? And no matter what set your useing, there will ALLWAYS be a VAST difference between composite and component, bandwidth is very important.

BZZ!!! Wrong!!!... "Probably"? Not a chance in hell my friend. IMO ANY decent size 68cm+ TEAC with SCART(rgb) will outperform visually any brand TV with composite. In fact I'll go as far and say it beats any TV with S-VIDEO.TEACs are so underrated, people keep knocking the brand, especially "gamers", it's a shame. You can get a decent size screen plus the best picture quality through SCART(rgb) for under $700. Great value for a "gaming" television imo.
