Firstly, a spade is a spade.
Secondly, who said scrubs beat me on any basis? If I played to win, the person in question would never beat me. Like I said though, I don't always play to win. I play to have fun (learning new combos, practicing the ones I already know). There's no fun in playing a scrub at all. You don't learn anything from them and they are not worth fighting because ultimately they are crap at fighting games and you can easily find some cheap character and beat them with their own tactics.

If I called someone a scrub because they beat me at a game, that means I've been beaten by a scrub; the ultimate shame.
You call someone a scrub because they are a scrub. That is, they play using a character who has unbalanced strengths and do the same moves repeatedly and mechanically.

Yes you are on the right path, Gamemaster. But why learn combos and build skills at fighting games if you don't intend on using them in competitive play?.
I build skills because I like to do it. I do like to play competitively, but only with those who I can learn stuff from in the process. Isn't that why anyone competes? To learn about their own abilities as well as others?
You can't learn anything from a scrub except which characters are totally out of balance.

If I was playing Sonic in CvS2 and he was owning me with his team (very unlikely!), I'd be more inclined to compliment him on being able to defeat me consistently, and then I'd go back and rethink my strategies.?.
Well, that's you dude. I don't compliment scrubs and I don't play them either.

If you are good at a fighting game and you lose to someone enough times to know that it's no fluke, they're no scrubs.
That's rubbish. Someone's tactics in a game makes them a scrub. It's no fault of a learner or whatever to be beaten by someone who takes advantage of flaws in the balance of a game.
Like I said, people who do such things, and then have the nerve to boast that they have skill, are worth avoiding.
