That is a very interesting point, and one that has crossed my mind a couple of times as the cause of not recognizing disks.
But it wouldn't matter if it was in a different power point, if it is still on the same circuit in your house.
I give this a low chance, but could be a possibility. I have a lot of stuff coming off the power point my boX is plugged into. Still - The xbox support have never mentioned anything like this.
